Mr. Shifter Shifts PG Tips

PG Tips is a brand of tea in the United Kingdom; its manufacturers Unilever UK claims that Britons drink 35 million cups of PG Tips a day. Since 1956, in the longest running advertising campaign for any brand, PG Tips often advertised using chimpanzees dressed as humans and drinking tea: the “Tipps family”.

One of these adverts, called “Mr. Shifter” holds the world record, for the advert shown most times on British Television. A whole range of figurine chimps were made as collector’s editions for PG Tips, and some are very rare. All the chimps in the adverts were featured (including Kevin Tipps and Mr. Shifter).

Michael Robbins (November 14, 1930 – December 11, 1992) was a British actor known for his television work. Formerly a bank clerk, he became an actor after appearing in amateur dramatic performances in Hitchin in Hertfordshire, where he lived at the time. Primarily a comedy actor, he is best known for the role of Arthur Rudge (the persistently sarcastic husband of Olive, who was played by Anna Karen) in the popular sitcom On the Buses.

Introduced nationally in 1982 as “Budweiser Light”, Bud Light is a 4.2% ABV pale lager with 110 calories. Since 2001, Bud Light has been the best-selling beer in the United States. In November 2007, the long-running slogan “Always Worth It” was replaced with “Keeps It Coming.”

The gas released during a flatus event frequently has a foul odor which mainly results from low molecular weight fatty acids such as butyric acid (rancid butter smell) and reduced sulfur compounds such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) and carbonyl sulfide that are the result of protein breakdown. The incidence of odoriferous compounds in flatus increases from herbivores, such as cattle, through omnivores to carnivorous species, such as cats or dogs. Flatulence odor can also be caused by the presence of large numbers of microflora bacteria and/or the presence of feces in the rectum.

A rocket sled is a test platform that slides along a set of rails, propelled by rockets. They were used extensively by the United States early in the Cold War to accelerate equipment considered too experimental (hazardous) for testing directly in piloted aircraft.

The Hershey Company, until April 2005 Hershey Foods Corporation, commonly called Hershey’s, is America’s largest chocolate company. Its headquarters is in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a town permeated by the aroma of cocoa on some days, and home to Hershey’s Chocolate World.

Chocolate milk is a sweetened, cocoa-flavored milk drink. It can be purchased pre-mixed or made at home with either cocoa powder and a sweetener (such as sugar), or with melted chocolate, chocolate syrup, or chocolate milk mix. Other ingredients, such as starch, salt, carrageenan, vanilla, or artificial flavoring, may be added. Chocolate milk should be refrigerated like plain milk.

The new Hilux is unbreakable, no bull

The Toyota Hilux, and Toyota Tacoma, are compact pickup trucks built and marketed by the Toyota Motor Corporation. The Hilux name was adopted as a replacement for the Stout in 1969, and remains in use worldwide.

Sheep shagger (alternative spelling: Sheepshagger) is a term aimed at people living in rural areas where populations of sheep are greater than those of the human residents, such as rural Ireland, Aberdeen, Wales, Australia or New Zealand, implying they perform sexual acts with sheep. A cattle grid – also known as a stock grid in Australia; cattle guard, or cattle grate in American English; vehicle pass, Texas gate, or stock gap in the Southeastern United States; and a cattle stop in New Zealand English – is a type of obstacle used to prevent livestock, such as sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, or mules from passing along a road or railway which penetrates the fencing surrounding an enclosed piece of land or border.

Snocrates is in search of the ideal snack

Del Monte aggressively marketed Snausages [a dog treat that resembles miniature hot dogs] upon the product’s launch in 1984, using a talking dog mascot named Snocrates, a pun on the name of the philosopher Socrates. The product’s catchphrase: “The most fun a dog can eat.”

Snocrates was originally a real dog, however, a week before the ad was due to be filmed, Snocrates unfortunately fell down the stairs and got a broken leg. As there was no Snocrates, they decided to use an animated dog as their mascot instead.
