A value menu (not to be confused with a value meal) is a group of menu items at a fast food restaurant that are designed to be the least expensive items available. In the US, the items are usually priced between $0.99 and $2.99. Burger King added a value menu in 1998 with items priced at 99¢ (USD), equivalent to $1.57 in 2020.

A cheeseburger is a hamburger topped with cheese. Traditionally, the slice of cheese is placed on top of the meat patty. The Double Down is a product offered by Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). The Double Down contains “bacon, two different kinds of melted cheese, the Colonel’s secret sauce… pinched in between two pieces of Original Recipe chicken fillets.” KFC announced that the Double Down would be available nationwide on April 12, 2010.

KFC considers its Double Down product a sandwich in spite of containing no bread.

Padma Lakshmi and Hardee’s Western Bacon Thickburger are more than just pieces of meat

Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1, 1970) is an Indian American cookbook author, actress, and former model who has described herself as the first well-known model from India. She has been the host of the reality television program Top Chef since season two. Lakshmi was brought up as a vegetarian and has admitted that because of this, she sometimes becomes “squeamish” when sampling other cultural delicacies. However, in 2009, she starred in a commercial for the Carl’s Jr. restaurant chain eating a Western Bacon Cheeseburger and credits the chain from bringing her away from vegetarianism.

Hardee’s is a restaurant chain, located mostly in the Midwest United States and Southeast regions. It has evolved through several corporate ownerships since being established in 1960. It is currently owned and operated by CKE Restaurants. Along with its sibling restaurant chain Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s is the #4 U.S. fast-food restaurant burger chain after McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s.

The Baconator sandwich is a hamburger sold by the international fast-food restaurant chain Wendy’s. It is one of their late-teen–to–young-adult, male-oriented products. [It] consists of two 4oz. beef patties, two slices of American cheese, six strips of bacon, mayonnaise, and ketchup on a premium bun.

Bacon may be eaten fried, baked, or grilled, or used as a minor ingredient to flavor dishes.

The taste and texture of American Cheese vary considerably, and mostly depend on the percentage of cheese versus additives used during the emulsification process. Varieties with lower percentages of additives tend to taste more like natural, unprocessed cheese.
