Morris the Cat really likes 9Lives rich, red Tuna meat

9Lives is the name of a brand of cat food, owned by Del Monte Foods. It is best known for its mascot, Morris the Cat.

Morris the Cat is the advertising mascot for 9Lives brand cat food, appearing on its packaging and in many of its television commercials. A large red tabby tom, he is “the world’s most finicky cat”, and prefers only 9Lives brand, making this preference clear by means of humorously sardonic voice-over comments when offered other brands.

Although generally recognised for his work on He-Man, John Erwin has many years of voice acting to his credit, and has provided voice work for many productions ranging from television adverts to live action movies ever since the 1960s.

Liquid-Plumr is a chemical drain opener produced by the Clorox Corporation. It consists of 0.5-2.0% sodium hydroxide and 5-10% sodium hypochlorite, plus a surfactant.

The Clorox Company is a manufacturer of various food and chemical products based in Oakland, California, which is best known for its bleach product, Clorox.

Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. The sound may be soft or loud and unpleasant. The structures are usually the uvula and soft palate.

Gentlemen prefer Hanes Alive

Hanes and Hanes Her Way are brands of apparel currently owned by the HanesBrands, Inc Corporation. The Hanes brand is used by the company for marketing a broad range of apparel essentials. During the 1970s and 1980s, their women’s hosiery tagline was “Gentlemen Prefer Hanes”.

The term ‘pantyhose‘ originated in the United States, referring to the combination of ‘panties’ (an American term for women’s underpants) with sheer nylon hosiery, meaning they are usually worn without other undergarments.

Upskirt is a slang term usually referring to up skirt photography, images of the view up a woman’s skirt (as seen from underneath), including shots of a woman’s underwear, or exposing her vulva or buttocks. Alternately, an “upskirt” may be a video, an illustration, or simply a view.

To a degree, “gentleman” signified a man who did not need to work, and the term was particularly used of those who could not claim nobility or even the rank of esquire. Widening further, it became a politeness for all men, as in the phrase “Ladies and Gentlemen,…” and this was then used (often with the abbreviation Gents) to indicate where men could find a lavatory, without the need to indicate precisely what was being described.

A Pop-Tart is a flat rectangular toaster pastry approximately 3 in (75 mm) by 5.5 in (115 mm), made by the Kellogg Company. Pop-Tarts have a sugary filling sealed inside two layers of rectangular, thin pastry crust; each layer of this crust is about 0.1 in (2 mm) thick. Most varieties have frosting, but some do not. They can be eaten without being warmed, but are often warmed inside a toaster.

Cleaning up McDonald’s

In response to the backlash against McDonald’s, the firm has sought to include some healthy choices in its menu and has introduced a new slogan to its recruitment posters: “Not bad for a McJob”. (The word McJob, first attested in the mid-1980s and later popularized by Canadian novelist Douglas Coupland in his book Generation X, has become a buzz word for low paid, unskilled work with few prospects or benefits and little security). McDonald’s disputes the idea that its restaurant jobs have no prospects, noting that its CEO, Jim Skinner, started working at the company as a regular restaurant employee, and that 20 of its top 50 managers began work as regular crew members.

A psychedelic experience, or trip, is characterized by the perception of aspects of one’s mind previously unknown, or by the creative exuberance of the mind liberated from its ordinary fetters. Psychedelic states are one of the stations on the spectrum of experiences elicited by sensory deprivation as well as by psychedelic substances. On that same spectrum will be found hallucinations, changes of perception, synesthesia, altered states of awareness, mystical states, and occasionally states resembling psychosis. The word psychedelic comes from a combination of two Greek words: psyche (ψυχή) and delos (δήλος). Literally, it means “mind manifesting”.
