Snocrates was originally a real dog, however, a week before the ad was due to be filmed, Snocrates unfortunately fell down the stairs and got a broken leg. As there was no Snocrates, they decided to use an animated dog as their mascot instead.

Del Monte Foods is an American food production and distribution company based in San Francisco, California. It offers canned goods in Del Monte, S&W and Contadina brands, pet foods under Kibbles n’ Bits, 9Lives, Pounce, Milk-Bone and several premium brands, canned tuna under StarKist Tuna, and other foodstuffs.

The McDLT (McDonald’s Lettuce and Tomato) was a hamburger product based on a novel form of packaging. The meat and bottom half of the bun was prepared separately from the lettuce, tomato, American cheese, pickles, sauces, and top half of the bun. Both were then packaged into a specially designed two-sided container. The consumer was then expected to finalize preparation of the sandwich by combining the hot and cool sides just prior to eating.

Pepé Le Pew is an Academy Award-winning fictional character in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. A French anthropomorphic skunk that always strolls around in Paris in the springtime, when everyone’s thoughts are of love, Pepé is constantly seeking “l’amour” of his own. However, he has two huge turnoffs to any prospective mates: his malodorous scent and the fact that he comes on too aggressively or with too much passion, both of which he is cheerfully oblivious of.

[The] European variation called Big Tasty – First tried out under a different name in selected McDonald’s Restaurants in Sweden in summer 2003, then a national release came during the autumn, and the burger got its name and the burger got its name Big Tasty (dropping the N’) and was made up somewhat differently. Judaism does not have a specific doctrine about the afterlife, but it does have a tradition of describing Gehenna. Gehenna is not hell, but rather a sort of Purgatory where one is judged based on his or her life’s deeds. The Kabbalah describes it as a “waiting room” (commonly translated as an “entry way”) for all souls (not just the wicked). The lawsuit claims the TV spots confuse consumers by comparing sirloin, a cut of meat found on all cattle, with Angus, which is a breed of cattle.

In response to the backlash against McDonald’s, the firm has sought to include some healthy choices in its menu and has introduced a new slogan to its recruitment posters: “Not bad for a McJob”. (The word McJob, first attested in the mid-1980s and later popularized by Canadian novelist Douglas Coupland in his book Generation X, has become a buzz word for low paid, unskilled work with few prospects or benefits and little security). McDonald’s disputes the idea that its restaurant jobs have no prospects, noting that its CEO, Jim Skinner, started working at the company as a regular restaurant employee, and that 20 of its top 50 managers began work as regular crew members.

Subway uses the advertising slogan “Eat Fresh” to explain how every sandwich is made on freshly baked bread, using fresh ingredients, in front of the customer to their exact specification, by employees who Subway terms “sandwich artists”.

Lust is any intense desire or craving for self gratification. Busby Berkeley (November 29, 1895 – March 14, 1976), born William Berkeley Enos in Los Angeles, California, was a highly influential Hollywood movie director and musical choreographer. Berkeley was famous for his elaborate musical production numbers that often involved complex geometric patterns. Berkeley’s quintessential works used legions of showgirls and props as fantastic elements in kaleidoscopic on-screen performances.

Nestlé Purina PetCare Company announced on March 30, 2007 a precautionary measure to voluntarily withdraw its 5.3 ounce Mighty Dog brand pouch products that were produced by Menu Foods, Inc. from December 3, 2006 through March 14, 2007. This withdrawal was in response to the recall initiated earlier by Menu Foods, a contract manufacturer that does limited business with Purina as well as with other pet food manufacturers. At that time, only Mighty Dog 5.3 ounce pouch products are being withdrawn by Nestlé Purina; however, on March 31, 2007, the recall was expanded to “all sizes and varieties of its Alpo Prime Cuts in Gravy wet dog food with specific date codes.” To date, nearly 60 million containers of pet food sold under 100 different brand labels have been recalled.

Thomas Alan Waits (born December 7, 1949) is an American singer-songwriter, composer, and actor. Waits has a distinctive voice, described by one critic as sounding “like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside and run over with a car.”

Waits has steadfastly refused to allow the use of his songs in commercials and has joked about other artists who do. (“If Michael Jackson wants to work for Pepsi, why doesn’t he just get himself a suit and an office in their headquarters and be done with it.”) He has filed several lawsuits against advertisers who used his material without permission. He has been quoted, “Apparently the highest compliment our culture grants artists nowadays is to be in an ad — ideally naked and purring on the hood of a new car,” he said in a statement, referring to Mercury-Lincoln’s “Cougar” automobile. “I have adamantly and repeatedly refused this dubious honor.”

Jimmy Dean (b. Jimmy Ray Dean August 10, 1928, in Plainview, Texas) is an American country music singer, actor, and businessman. Although most people know him today as the founder of the food company Jimmy Dean Food Company, he actually started off his career as a Country Music singer back in the 1960s, scoring big country crossover hits like “Big Bad John”.

Like most other fast-food outlets, KFC uses partially hydrogenated oil in its foods. This oil contains relatively high levels of trans fat, which increases the risk of heart disease. The Center for Science in the Public Interest filed a court case against KFC, with the aim of making it use other types of oils or make sure customers know about trans fat content immediately before they buy food. Michael Jacobsen, director of the Center describes KFC content of trans fats as: “It recklessly puts its customers at risk of a Kentucky Fried Coronary.”

Foghorn Leghorn is the name of a character appearing in numerous Warner Brothers animated cartoons, especially Looney Tunes. He is a large, anthropomorphic adult rooster with a strong southern accent and a penchant for mischief. He first appeared in 1946 in a Henery Hawk film entitled Walky Talky Hawky.

Jason Alexander (born September 23, 1959) is a television, cinema and musical theatre actor, best known for his role as George Costanza on the hit television series Seinfeld.

George Louis Costanza is a fictional character on the United States-based television sitcom Seinfeld (1989–1998), played by Jason Alexander. He has variously been described as a “short, stocky, slow-witted, bald man” (by Elaine Benes), “Lord of the Idiots” (by Costanza himself), and as “the greatest sitcom character of all time”.

The McDLT is perhaps best remembered for its marketing, which focused on variations of the theme “Keep the hot side hot, and the cool side cool.” A fairly well-remembered 1985 commercial released to market the new sandwich featured a young Jason Alexander, and has obtained a minor following on the web.

KFC, or Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a fast food restaurant chain based in Louisville, Kentucky. Founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, KFC is now a division of Yum! Brands. KFC is known mainly for its fried chicken.

Colonel Sanders was born in Henryville, Indiana . His father died when he was five years old, and since his mother worked, he was required to cook for his family. He dropped out of school in seventh grade. During his teen years, Sanders worked many jobs, including firefighter, steamboat driver, insurance salesman, railroad worker, farmer, and he served as an Army private in Cuba.

[Pac-Man] was developed primarily by Namco employee Toru Iwatani over eighteen months. The original title was pronounced pakku-man (パックマン, pakku-man) and was inspired by the Japanese onomatopoeic phrase paku-paku taberu (パクパク食べる, paku-paku taberu), where paku-paku describes (the sound of) the mouth movement when widely opened and then closed in succession. Although it is often cited that the characteristic shape was inspired by a pizza missing a slice, he admitted in a 1986 interview that it was a half-truth and the character design also came from simplifying and rounding out the Japanese character for mouth, kuchi (口) as well as the basic concept of eating.

After successful early growth of the [Wendy's] chain, sales flattened as the company struggled to achieve brand differentiation in the highly competitive fast-food market. This situation would turn around in the mid-1980s. Starting on January 9, 1984, elderly actress Clara Peller was featured in the successful “Where’s the Beef?” North American commercial campaign for Wendy’s. Her famous line quickly entered the American pop culture (it was even used by Walter Mondale in a debate with Gary Hart in the Democratic primary election) and served to promote Wendy’s hamburgers. Peller, age 84, was dropped from the campaign in 1985 because she performed in a commercial for Prego spaghetti sauce, saying she “finally found” the beef. Peller was soon after replaced by Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas himself.
